Green Beans Almondine

1 lb. green beans, trimmed
2 t. olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ c. slivered almonds
¼ c. fresh basil leaves, chopped
½ lemon, juiced (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste

Steam the beans 5-15 minutes, depending on size and how crunchy you like them. Quickly chill them in ice water. In a large skillet, heat oil and saute garlic and almonds. Add the drained beans and other ingredients; toss and serve immediately. Serves 4.
